As well as the lamp, I also got a Brother tape and ribbon label maker and an LED light board from Create & Craft.  The white "fabric" in the photo is lightweight interfacing, to use with stitcheries or embroideries.

New Lamp

I received the lamp I bought from Create & Craft, with Xmas/birthday money. The light was very welcome today because it's a very dark, and windy, day. 

I'm stitching the last vertical join.

These are the long triangles that go at the top and bottom of the quilt - 6 of them. My eyes are driving me crazy today ... As well as the floaters, both eyes feel sticky, and it makes doing anything - especially sewing tiny stitches - almost impossible!

Still got those annoying floaters in my eye, but I HAD to do some stitching today. I've done one row of "filler" diamonds down the side of Row 3, and maybe tomorrow I'll add the fourth row.

So, not taking anything with me to London because I finished them all yesterday! Looking forward to the short holiday, but I'm also longing to get back so I can go on with my sewing!

I got some more of the seeded cream cotton in the post today. I've cut up all the fabric, and I'm thinking of taking them to London with me ... something to do in the hotel in the evenings.

The story so far ... The first three columns. I think I'm going to take a break. I leave for London on Friday, for 3 days, and I want to give my hands a rest. My thumbs especially hurt when I lift anything! I really like the colours.

Have made up the triangles for the background. I will start attaching these, and more of the diamonds, to the 9 strips tomorrow.

I'm now sewing my rows together. This is Row 1. I have 3 rows sewn so far.

The stars laid out on the floor at Mum and Dad's (I don't have the floor space at home ...) last night (New Year's Eve). There was a bit more tweaking after I took this photo so there weren't any of the same colour/shade next to each other.

I then marked them on the back with the column and position (7/1 = the topmost star of column 7), and continued to add the natural seeded diamonds.
