I have a Street of Shops - 1:12 scale, and consists of three shops. From the beginning I knew one shop was going to be a plant/flower shop and the other a haberdashers, and I've made lots of bits to go in those shops over the years. Many years ...
The other day I came across some things I've made which I'd completely forgotten about. I have several boxes filled with bits and pieces to stock the shops, and I need to complete fitting those shops out (ie putting in shelves and so on), so that I can empty that pile of boxes.
I had been playing with the idea of a gift shop for the third shop, but I haven't made anything for it. All I had made was a shop counter, but it was very plain. Today I got it out and thought I'd finish it and making it look more special.
The counter top is dark brown, although it looks black in the photo. And the panelling I made using the technique for making the 1:48 scale floorboards.
And these aren't plasters - I haven't had a miniature-making accident - they are little baskets for pot pourri! I've used a very old cross stitch fabric my Mum gave me.
I also spent a while die cutting and punching shapes I may be able to use to make things for the gift shop. It's going to be (the kind of shop I like) the sort of shop which sells all those things you don't need but have to have!
